Consultation and Assessment

Starting with an in-person or telephone interview with you, the parent(s), we will begin the process of constructing a comprehensive understanding of your child’s situation. We will review all pertinent materials including school reports, IEP/504 plans, medical and treatment records, and previous educational or psychological testing. We will also speak with other involved professionals as appropriate to gain an in-depth understanding of your child’s needs.

Recommendations and Planning

Once we have an understanding of your family’s unique circumstances and story, we’re ready to provide a set of treatment recommendations that may consist of a single placement or series of placements that will meet your child’s needs. We will walk you through our suggested program recommendations and provide guidance as you choose the program or programs that you feel are best suited to your child and your family.

Support

Once your child is placed in a program, we stay involved as part of your treatment team to guide your family through the treatment process. We will be in regular communication with the clinical team and with you, at times we may visit your child in treatment, and will continually assess therapeutic and academic progress. As you encounter questions or concerns, we will be there to help you navigate those, ensuring that you get the best treatment and service possible. Staying involved throughout the treatment process also allows us to better assist and guide families through transition and aftercare planning, particularly if a child may be transitioning to more than one program.

Transition

Even after a successful treatment experience, the work is not done. Post-treatment transitions can be challenging and may require additional services, such as supportive boarding schools, home or community-based aftercare programs, local therapeutic and academic support as well as other wrap around support services. By starting these conversations during treatment we’ll be better prepared for a smooth, successful transition once that time comes. We’ll help you plan and execute the best transition plan possible so that changes made in treatment are sustainable and transferrable.
